Lady Roaring Lions fall against ranked Villa Maria College

Buffalo, NY- The Roaring Lions of Penn State Fayette traveled to Buffalo, New York to square off against Villa Maria this past Monday night.  The two teams battled in a nonconference match-up where Fayette was never quite able to control the game as Villa Maria was dominant.  At the half the score of the game was 52-27 heavily in favor of Villa Maria.  The Roaring Lions would never quite get back into the game and end up losing the contest by a final score of 107-57.

The Roaring Lions were led by another standout performance by Haley Moreland who finished the game with 25 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, and 6 steals.  Other highlights for the Roaring Lions included Kori whitehead with 16 points and 1 rebound and Melissa Bochnak with 6 points and 13 rebounds.

Villa Maria was led by Shaquana Owens who posted a triple-double with 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists.  Other highlights for Villa Maria included Tekia Gary with 22 points and 3 rebounds as a reserve and Nina Cray with 20 points and 7 rebounds.

Women's basketball will be back in action January 31st as Penn State Hazleton visits for a 4pm tipoff.
