Lemont Furnace, PA- The Roaring Lions squared off against visiting Penn State Hazleton on Wednesday night in a PSUAC conference game. The game was heavily anticipated by both teams due to having being cancelled earlier in the season. The Roaring Lions took a 10 point deficit into the half with a score of 29-19. The Roaring Lions were still never able to get a one up on Hazleton and ended up losing the game by a final score of 69-51.
The Roaring Lions were led by Haley Moreland with 14 points and 2 rebounds. Other highlights for the Roaring Lions included Hanna Stockwell putting up 12 points and 5 rebounds and Kori Whitehead compiled 10 points and 7 rebounds.
Hazleton was led by Kendra Pfeil who was just shy of a double-double with 27 points and 9 rebounds. Other highlights for Hazleton included Mckenzie Prutsman with 20 points and 6 rebounds and Shelby Berger with 10 points and 8 rebounds.
Women's basketball will be back in action February 1st as the Roaring Lions travel to Penn State Dubois for a 6pm tipoff.
