WBB cold at PSU Lehigh Valley

Lemont Furnace, PA - The Penn State Fayette women's basketball team lost its second PSUAC crossover road game in as many days when it felt to PSU Lehigh Valley on Saturday, 78-54.

Fayette (6-12, 3-6 PSUAC) jumped out to a 20-11 lead after the first quarter, but it had trouble scoring in the second and third quarters against Lehigh Valley (14-2, 9-0).

In the second, Lehigh Valley outscored Fayette 22-9 to take a 33-29 lead at halftime and then the hosts outscored Fayette 24-8 in the third to take a commanding 20-point lead into the fourth, 57-37.

Dae-lin Burnsworth (Monarch, PA/Connellsville HS) led Fayette with 16 points and five steals while Lyndsey Huhn (California, PA/California HS) had 11 points and seven rebounds and Siteri Tale (Uniontown/Laurel Highlands HS) grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.

Fayette had a hard time from the field as it shot 31.4% (22-70) for the game and only made two out of 19 three-point attempts (10.5%).

Kion Andrews and Ally Quinn led Lehigh Valley with 17 points apiece.

Fayette returns to action Tuesday when it heads to PSU Mont Alto for its third conference road game in five days.
