Riley, Burnsworth lead WBB to PSUAC win

Mont Alto, PA - The Penn State Fayette women's basketball team picked up a much-needed PSUAC win Tuesday night at PSU Mont Alto, 82-59.

Freshmen Kaitlyn Riley (Charleroi, PA/Charleroi HS) and Dae-lin Burnsworth (Monarch, PA/Connellsville HS) led the way offensively for Fayette with 23 and 21 points, respectively.

Riley made seven out of 11 shots from the floor and all eight of her free throw attempts while four of Burnsworth's seven made baskets were three-pointers.

Playing a solid all-around game, Riley had seven rebounds and shared team honors with six assists as well.

Junior Lyndsey Huhn (California, PA/California HS) finished with seven points, eight rebounds and six assists while fellow junior Siteri Tale (Uniontown/Laurel Highlands HS) also grabbed eight rebounds.

Fayette outscored Mont Alto in each quarter and trailed for only 17 seconds in the game.

Up 22-17 after the first quarter, Fayette extended its lead to 38-28 at the half.

After Fayette was able to extend its lead to 53-39 after three, it outscored Mont Alto 29-20 in the fourth to put the conference game out of reach.

Fayette shot 45.5% (30-66) for the game and 41.2% (7-17) from beyond the arc while Mont Alto shot 39.0% (23-59) for the game and 35.7% (5-14) for the game.

Karley Coleman looked best for Mont Alto with 16 points.

Fayette hosts PSU York Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
