WBB wins big at PSU New Kensington

New Kensington, PA - The PSU Fayette women's basketball team won for the third time in four games with an 83-23 win at PSU New Kensington Wednesday night.

Taylor Costa (Donora, PA/Ringgold HS) recorded her sixth double-double of the season and led four Fayette players in double figures with 20 points, 14 rebounds, five steals and three blocks.

Bailey Vig (California, PA/California HS) had 18 points and six steals, Kaitlyn Riley (Charleroi, PA/Charleroi HS) scored 18 points, grabbed six rebounds, had four assists and four steals while Dae-lin Burnsworth (Monarch, PA/Connellsville HS) added 13 points.

Fayette (9-13, 5-7 PSUAC) forced New Kensington into 29 turnovers and converted them into 28 points.

Up 14-0 to start the game, Fayette led 19-2 after one quarter and was up 48-8 at the half before leading 67-16 after three quarters.

Fayette shot 41.7% (35-84) for the game but only made three out of 15 shots (20%) from behind the arc.

New Kensington only made eight shots the entire game and shot 16.3% (8-49) form the field.

Fayette outrebounded the hosts, 56-38, and outscored them in the paint, 38-2.

Erika Finn led New Kensington with 10 points.

Fayette returns to action Friday when it hosts PSU Schuylkill (7-13, 5-9) in a PSUAC contest.
