Duo of Roaring Lions Earn USCAA All-American Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Junior women's volleyball standout Leah Ambrosini (Connellsville, Pa.) earned her third straight United States Collegiate Athletic Association First Team All-American selection, while senior Katie Sleasman (Connellsville, Pa.) notched her third Second Team All-American honor in recognition of their 2011 campaigns. The All-American teams were announced Thursday night at the USCAA Volleyball banquet at the Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky. 

 

Sleasman, a four-year letterwinner, notched her 2,000th assist this season, earning her the distinction as Fayette's all-time assists leader. She finishes her career with more than 2,200 assists.

 

Ambrosini, a three-year letterwinner, captured Fayette's all-time kills record during the 2011 campaign as well, surpassing former Roaring Lions' standout Heather Kelly's total of 760 from 2006-09. She now totals more than 800 kills in three seasons with Fayette.
