Volleyball steals weekend show at WPCC-PSUAC Challenge

Lemont Furnace, PA- The Penn State Roaring Lions Volleyball team dominated and won all three games this past weekend at the WPCC-PSUAC Challenge at Penn State Beaver. Their opponents for the weekend were Westmoreland County Community College at 4:00 PM and Penn Highlands directly after at 6:00 PM on Friday. On Saturday, the Roaring Lions would cap off the weekend with a match-up against the Community College of Beaver County at 2:00 PM.

 On Friday, the Roaring Lions shut-out both WCCC and Penn Highlands, 3-0. Siteri Tale tallied 15 kills against WCCC. Kyonte Martin and Morgan Pytlak both had 6 kills as well. Machaela Hall had 23 assists in the shutout victory against WCCC. After the victory against WCCC, the Roaring Lions took on Penn Highlands directly after. The Roaring Lions were victorious and shutout out Penn Highlands, 3-0. Siteri Tale had 10 kills and Machaela Hall had 25 assists and 8 digs. The Roaring Lions finished off the weekend with a match-up against the Community College of Beaver County at 2:00 PM. Again, the Roaring Lions had great teamwork and success to shutout CCBC, 3-0. Kyonte Martin had 8 kills and 11 digs. Other Roaring Lions that contributed were Hannah Lipniskis, who had 6 kills and 5 digs and Morgan Pytlak with 9 kills and 9 digs.

Coming up this week, the Roaring Lions will travel to Penn State New Kensington for a conference match-up at 7:00 PM. On Thursday, they will host their first game of the season on September 21st. They will be against the Kent State Tuscarawas at 7:00 PM at the Community Center Gym.
