Lady Roaring Lions close season out with conference win

Lemont Furnace, PA – The final game of the 2017 season for the Penn State Fayette volleyball team took place at Penn State Greater Allegheny in the Wunderly Gym at 7:00 PM. This would be the final PSUAC regular season match-up for the Roaring Lions, but the most important. This game would decide what seed the Roaring Lions would have for the 2017 PSUAC playoffs coming up this weekend. In the last match-up between these teams, The Roaring Lions defeated Greater Allegheny, 3-0, in the Community Center on October 11th. Penn State Fayette has won the last 10 games and have beaten 9 PSUAC opponents during this streak. Coach Swetz, Coach Cooper and the Roaring Lions were looking to continue the win streak and end the regular season on a good note.

Penn State Fayette would defeat Penn State Greater Allegheny, 3-0. The sets went 25-14, 25-10 and 25-21 for the Roaring Lions. Machaela Hall came through with another 20+ game of assists with 28 on the evening. Hall would tally 4 digs as well. Alex Muccioli contributed with 4 digs. Chanel Porter had 10 digs. Kyonte Martin tallied 5 kills, 1 assist, 6 digs and 1 block for the Roaring Lions. Khani Young recorded 4 kills and 1 dig. Morgan Pytlak would tally 5 kills and 3 digs. Kayla Barbabella would have a dig for Penn State Fayette. Siteri Tale had 10 kills, 1 assist and 1 block and Hannah Lipniskis would record 7 kills and 2 digs. Penn State Fayette extend their win streak to 11 games in a row and would finish the regular season with a record of (21-6) overall and (13-3) in the PSUAC.

Looking ahead, Penn State Fayette will compete in the 2017 PSUAC playoffs as the #3 seed. They will play this Friday against Penn State Lehigh Valley. Best of luck to the Roaring Lions volleyball team at the PSUAC playoffs!
