Fayette advances; Faces Brandywine in PSUAC Championship

The Penn State Fayette Volleyball team finished the regular season with a record of (21-6) overall and (13-3) in the PSUAC. Fayette would finish in 3rd place in the conference. The Roaring Lions qualified for the 2017 PSUAC playoffs, which took place this weekend at Penn State Brandywine. The Roaring Lions would face-off in the quarterfinals last Friday. Penn State Fayette would take on #6 Penn State Lehigh Valley.  

The Roaring Lions defeated Lehigh Valley, 3-0. The sets were 25-12, 25-14, and 25-16. Fayette was dominate with all players contributing to the victory. Machaela Hall had 1 kill and 3 digs. Hall would tally another big game of assists with 29. Alex Muccioli recorded 1 assist and 5 digs. Chanel Porter had 1 kill and a big game of digs with 15. Kyonte Martin tallied 5 kills, 2 assists and 8 digs. Khani Young would have 2 kills and 2 blocks for the Roaring Lions. Morgan Pytlak contributed with a big game of kills with 10. Pytlak would have 4 digs and 1 block as well. Kayla Barbabella had 2 digs for Fayette. Siteri Tale recorded 13 kills, 3 digs and 2 blocks on the evening and Hannah Lipniskis would have 3 kills.  

Penn State Fayette would then advance to the semi-finals. The semi-finals took place on Saturday at 4:00 PM. The Roaring Lions took on Penn State Mont Alto and the winner would move on to the 2017 PSUAC Championship.  

The Roaring Lions would defeat Penn State Mont Alto, 3-1 and advance to the 2017 PSUAC Championship. The first set went 25-19, in favor of Penn State Fayette. Penn State Mont Alto would respond and take the next set, 25-16. The Roaring Lions then regrouped and won the next two sets, 25-21 and 25-12.  

Machaela Hall had 1 kill, 29 assists and 6 digs. Alex Muccioli recorded 4 digs and Chanel Porter had 19 digs. Kyonte Martin tallied 2 kills, 2 assists and 6 digs. Khani Young posted 2 kills and 3 blocks for Fayette. Morgan Pytlak had 6 kills and 6 digs. Siteri Tale contributed with a big game of kills with 21. Tale added 1 assist, 10 digs and 5 blocks. Hannah Lipniskis would tally 3 kills, 1 assist and 3 digs. With this victory, Penn State Fayette advances to the 2017 PSUAC Championship. 

This Tuesday, we have a real treat for you this Halloween! The PSUAC Championship takes place on Halloween night, October 31st at 7:00 PM in the Rec Hall in State College, PA.
