Porter named PSUAC VB Player of the Week

Lemont FUrnace, PA - Penn State Fayette sophomore Chanel Porter (Cumberland, MD/Allegany HS) was named the PSUAC Volleyball Player of the Week for the closing week of the regular season.

"It's an honor for me to be named PSUAC volleyball Player of the Week," said Porter. "Leading the conference in digs and getting this award were goals I made for myself at the beginning of the season.

"I am very thankful to be a part of such a great team who I couldn't have accomplished this without."

A native of Allegany, Md., Porter had 36 digs between Fayette's pair of sweeps against Penn State Greater Allegany and Penn State Beaver.

Head coach Sam Swetz spoke about Porter and the honor.

"Chanel is doing an amazing job at her position right now and I am so impressed with her competitive drive," she said "She is the reason we don't struggle with communication."
