VB wins seventh in a row

Lemont Furnace, PA - Don't look now, but the Penn State Fayette volleyball team is on a roll.

Wednesday night, the team swept PSU Mont Alto (25-18, 25-17, 25-10) and has won 21 out of 24 sets during the run including the last 13.

"I am very happy with the constant team atmosphere," said coach Sam Swetz. "It's not only the energy on the court, but the players on the sideline cheering.

"They are so happy to be a part of the team in any way possible and that is the most successful thing you could (have) as a coach."

Reigning United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Player of the Year Siteri Tale (Uniontown/Laurel Highlands HS) provided another strong performance with nine kills, seven digs and six blocks.

Angel Buwawa (Uniontown, PA/Laurel Highlands) added six kills and Machaela Hall (Fairchance, PA/Albert Gallatin HS) had nine digs.

Fayette (7-1, 3-0 PSUAC) hosts PSU New Kensington Saturday and PSU Greater Allegheny Sunday.

Both contests are conference matches.
