VB back to its winning ways

The Penn State Fayette volleyball team returned to its winning ways Tuesday night with a three-match sweep at PSU-Beaver (25-14, 25-19, 25-19).

"It was fun to watch the team rebuild and get back into the winning team that we are," said head coach Sam Swetz, whose team saw its eight-match winning streak snapped Sunday by PSU Greater Allegheny. "There was tons of positive energy today and good vibes all around.

"It is the perfect game to lead into crossover."

Siteri Tale (Uniontown/Laurel Highlands HS) had 12 kills and seven blocks for Fayette, Kiki Martin (Brownsville, PA/Brownsville HS) had eight kills, Jadyn Barnish (Carmichaels, Carmichaels HS) had 21 assists and Justyne Howell (Hunker, PA/Southmoreland HS) added 11 assists.

Fayette heads to Penn State University this weekend for the second annual Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) Crossover weekend.

The weekend will consist of four matchups for Fayette (9-2, 5-1).

On Saturday, it plays PSU Brandywine at the White Building at 4 PM.

Sunday will feature three matches.

Fayette plays its first two Sunday contests at the White Building, a 10 AM match against PSU Hazleton and a noon contest against Lehigh Valley.

Fayette will conclude the Crossover weekend at the legendary Rec Hall at 4 PM Sunday when it plays PSU Schuylkill.
