VB keeps rolling, sweeps PS Shenango

The Penn State Fayette volleyball team is gearing up for the post-season with its 10th straight win Tuesday night with a sweep at Penn State Shenango.

"This was an amazing showing by the team tonight," said Fayette coach Sam Swetz. "We have to keep it going as it is nothing but hard work from here on out as the playoffs are fast approaching."

Fayette (18-2, 7-1) won the sets 25-17, 25-10 and 25-17.

Angel Buwawa (Uniontown, PA/Laurel Highlands) registered 10 kills out of 13 attempts and Swetz talked about Buwawa's performance.

"That is an amazing hit total for her," Swetz said. "I am proud of her and how far she has come this season as she has transitioned into her position on the team."

Anei Toaisi (Suva, Fiji, Uniontown HS) had four aces, Machaela Hall (Fairchance, PA/Albert Gallatin HS) had 11 digs while Siteri Tale (Uniontown/Laurel Highlands HS) added nine, Jadyn Barnish (Carmichaels, Carmichaels HS) had 16 assists and Justyne Howell (Hunker, PA/Southmoreland HS) had 12.

Fayette returns to PSUAC action Saturday when it goes to PS Mont Alto (17-6, 6-3) for a 1:00 PM match.
