Volleyball drops home opener versus Carlow

Lemont Furnace, PA - The Penn State Fayette Volleyball team dropped its first home match since 2019 Saturday when it was swept by Carlow, 3-0 (16-25, 21-25, 21-25).

"It was a tough loss in the home opener," said head coach Sam Swetz. "It's been hard to practice so much without very many games to see what we need to work on.  But now we know, and we will only grow from today for Tuesday."

For Fayette (2-2), Carissa Cyphert (Scottdale, PA/Southmoreland HS) finished with 15 digs, Angel Buwawa (Uniontown, PA/Laurel Highlands HS) had eight kills, seven digs and four blocks while Alie McGee (Carmichaels, PA/Carmichaels HS) had 15 assists and six digs.

Fayette opens Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) play Tuesday when it heads to Penn State Mont Alto.
