VB falls to West leading GA

The Penn State Fayette Volleyball team fought hard Saturday against Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) West division leading Penn State Greater Allegheny, but it fell in four sets (13-25, 25-17, 22-25, 25-27).

"I am proud of the team for fighting so hard," said head coach Sam Swetz. "This is the energy that I have been waiting to coach all season with this team.  After the first set, we woke up and wanted to battle."

Angel Buwawa (Uniontown, PA/Laurel Highlands HS) had 16 digs, Kamden Miller (Midland, PA/Lincoln Park HS) had 14 digs and 10 kills, Kristina Aeschbacher (Carmichaels, PA/Carmichaels HS) recorded 10 kills and six total blocks and Noelle Hunter (Fredricktown, PA/Beth-Center HS) had 11 kills and three blocks.

Fayette (9-7 overall, 5-4 PSUAC) heads to Penn State DuBois (12-5, 7-2) Monday.  A win Monday would clinch fourth place for Fayette while a loss would mean Fayette could not finish above third in the PSUAC West.  DuBois is tied for second in the division with Penn State Mont Alto (14-5, 7-2) with Greater Allegheny (16-6, 8-2) maintaining first place by percentage points.
