Fayette Volleyball is heading to Rec Hall

Lemont Furnace, PA- Fayette Volleyball is heading to Rec Hall.

Fayette Volleyball will be once again returning to Rec Hall for the second year in a row. This comes after beating the 4th seed, Penn State New Kensington in a 3-0 sweep at home last night. Fayette dominated, with scores of 25-16, 25-23, 25-13 in their last PSUAC game on their home turf. Leading for Fayette was Amiah DeShields with 12 kills and a .346 hitting percentage. Defensively, Adela Blough and Tyannah Eddings were all over the floor with 41 digs combined.

Fayette will now fix their eyes on Rec Hall at University Park for a semi final match up against Penn State Mont Alto, the two-time defending USCAA National Champions. Penn State Mont Alto pulled an upset last night with a 3-1 victory over the 2nd seed on the East, Penn State York. The last time Fayette and Mont Alto collided was in regular season last year. One of the times, Fayette was able to take Mont Alto to five but was unsuccessful at de-throning the PSUAC Champions. Mont Alto finished last year with a 12-0 PSUAC season and went on to win the USCAA National Title for the second year in a row. However, Fayette volleyball is no stranger historically to Rec Hall, winning 12 PSUAC Championships in the gym, and appearing in the semi-finals over 15 times since 2005. PSUAC Semi-Finals is set to take place on Monday, October 28 at 7:00 P.M. at University Park.
