Eastern conference rivals proved to be too much for Lady Roaring Lions

Lemont Furnace, PA- Penn State Fayette was in action on Friday night as they took on visiting Penn State Brandywine.  Brandywine was able to handle the Roaring Lions in the first half finishing at halftime with a score of 35-22.  The Roaring Lions attempted to stop Brandywine in the second half, but they had no avail.  The final of the game was 78-55 in favor of Brandywine. 

The Roaring Lions were once again led by Haley Moreland who led the team with 22 points and totaled 3 rebounds.  Other highlights for the Roaring Lions included Kori Whitehead who compiled 13 points and 2 rebounds, Hanna Stockwell who posted 10 points and 5 rebounds, and Melissa Bochnak who also posted 10 points and 5 rebounds.

Penn State Brandywine was led by Brandi James who had 16 points and 5 rebounds.  Other highlights for Brandywine included Kendra Stanford with 12 points and 6 rebounds and Chrissy Gledhill with 11 points and 1 rebound.

Penn State Fayette was in action on Saturday afternoon as they took on visiting Penn State Lehigh Valley at the Community Center.  Lehigh Valley got off to a run that wouldn't come close to being stopped as they put up a 62-34 score at the half.  More of the same speed and tempo came from Lehigh Valley in the second half as the final score was ran up to an astounding 113-53 victory in favor of Penn State Lehigh Valley. 

The Roaring Lions were led by Haley Moreland who compiled a double-double with a total of 25 points and 10 rebounds.  Other highlights for Fayette included Kori Whitehead with 8 points and 2 rebounds and Hanna Stockwell with 6 points and 5 rebounds.

Penn State Lehigh Valley was led by Hannah Bankes who had 29 points and 7 rebounds.  Other highlights for Lehigh Valley included Ebony Sanders who put up a double-double with 20 points and 16 rebounds and Andrea Watkins who compiled 15 points and 1 rebound.

Women's basketball will be back in action January 29th as they travel to Villa Maria for a 6pm tipoff.
