Fayette Volleyball takes on USCAA Volleyball Classic

Lemont Furnace, PA- The Penn State Fayette Volleyball team opened the season this past weekend at Penn State Beaver's USCAA Volleyball Classic in Monaca, PA. New Head Coach Samantha Swetz and Assistant Coach Janelle Cooper were ready to start the season with their new team and attempt to have a repeat of last year. The Roaring Lions took on Johnson & Wales in the first match-up where they were defeated 3-0. The Roaring Lions were able to bounce back after in the next match-up against Penn State Greater Allegheny by defeating them 3-0. The team was able to be successful in this match. The final match-up was on Saturday against Maine-Fort Kent. The Roaring Lions were defeated 3-0.

The Roaring Lions went 1-2 on the weekend and battled some great teams this past weekend. The team is still optimistic as the season just began. Swetz stated "we have a new and young group that just started the season where other teams have been playing together." She continued by stating "once that chemistry is made, we are able to be successful moving forward."

The Roaring Lions are ready to bounce back in the next match-up at Kent State Tuscarawas on Wednesday, September 6th at 7:00 PM.
