Roaring Lions victorious at Mont Alto; Pisarski takes 1st

Lemont Furnace, PA – On Saturday, the Roaring Lions Cross Country team were victorious at the Penn State Mont Alto Invitational. Last year, the men's team won this event. This was the second invitational at another PSUAC school this season. The first event took place at Penn State Greater Allegheny where the Roaring Lions took home 2nd place. This past weekend, the Roaring Lions were dominate and took home 1st place honors. It was a very hot afternoon for all the teams that competed. They had to shorten the men's course due to the weather conditions.

The Roaring Lions were led by Devin Pisarski, who finished in 1st place with a time of 22:43 and Nyoah Marteny, who finished in 2nd place with a final time of 22:59. Michael Elliot finished the race in 7th place with a final time of 24:36. Aaron Mylan was right behind him finishing at 25:21 and PJ Savini finished the day in 26:24. The women's team only had 4 runners, but still finished with great times. Freshman Anna Elko finished in 7th place with a time of 33:57. Senior Kirsten Webb finished the event in 40:18. Amber Glodziak finished the race in 46:36 with Emma Hepler right behind her finishing in 46:48. It was a great team effort by the Roaring Lions this past weekend.

The final PSUAC match-up of the season will take place on Saturday, September 30th at Penn State Scranton at 1:00 PM. The Roaring Lions have two more non-conference match-ups before the PSUAC championships begin in a month. The Roaring Lions look to finish the regular season strong to prepare to capture another PSUAC title.
