Erdman named PSUAC Male Runner of the Week

Lemont Furnace, PA - Penn State Fayette cross country runner Drew Erdman (Greensburg, PA/Greensburg Salem HS) has been named the PSUAC Male Runner of the Week.

"Being honored is very special to me because I have worked so hard to get where I am," said the Business Accounting major humbly. "It is nice to see my hard work pay off."

A freshman, Erdman helped Fayette to a fourth-place finish at the Roaring Lions Invitational with a time of 29:03.

He recorded a nearly 90-second improvement on his personal record en route to a 17th-place finish against Division I and Division II runners.

Cross country head coach Joe Carei said that he is glad Erdman has been recognized.

"This is well-deserved because Drew is a hard worker and he shows that it pays off," Carei said. "He has made the transition from the high school 5k to the college 8k pretty well."

Carei said that Erdman's progress has been steady.

"He has improved every meet and is a valuable member of the team," he said.

Erdman joins Nyoah Marteny (Perryopolis, PA/Frazier), who was named the PSUAC Male Runner of the Week earlier in the season.
