XC finishes fourth at USCAA championships

Virginia Beach, VA - The Penn State Fayette men's cross country team finished fourth at the USCAA Division II national championships earlier today.

After the amazing conclusion to the team's season, head coach Joe Carei spoke about the outcome.
 
"Our best finish in program history was last year when we finished eighth," he said. "Our goal was to beat it and finish in the top five this year.
"Mission accomplished."
 
 Drew Erdman (Greensburg, PA/Greensburg Salem HS) looked best for Fayette with a time of 28:31, six seconds ahead of Nyoah Marteny (Perryopolis, PA/Frazier).
 
 Aaron Mylan (Rices Landing, PA/Jefferson-Morgan HS) was the next highest finisher for Fayette with a time of 28:57 while Devin Pisarski (Connellsville, PA/Connellsville HS) and Stephen Lacek (Fort Cherry, PA/Fort Cherry HS) both finished the race in under 30 minutes with time of 29:17 and 29:29, respectively.
 
Fayette had the tightest pack of all schools as five runners came in within 58 seconds.
