XC opens season hosting PS-Mont Alto, Minda takes 1st

Lemont Furnace, PA - The Fayette Nittany Lions hosted their lone Cross-Country meet of the season on April 1st against Penn State Mont Alto, and finished with outstanding results.

For the men, Mitchell Minda finished in 1st place for the Fayette Lions recording a 5k run time of 19 minutes and 54 seconds (which earned him PSUAC XC runner of the week). Alex Gostev followed behind Minda finishing in 2nd place with a run time of 20 minutes and 19 seconds. Other runners for the Fayette Lions included Arlo Helms finishing in 4th place with a run time of 23:14, Steven Painter finishing in 5th place with a run time of 23:30, and Sean Snead finishing in 6th place with a run time of 23:52.

For the women, Chloe Kalp was the top finisher for the Fayette Lady Lions finishing in 2nd place with a 5k run time of 25:09. Josie Pindro followed behind Kalp with a 3rd place finish time of 25:52. Other runners for the Fayette Lady Lions include Casey Falcon finishing in 5th place with a run time of 28:44, Kayla Zelonka finishing in 6th place with a run time of 30:53, and Haley Miller finishing in 7th place with a run time of 31:19.

The Fayette Lions Cross Country team will return to action on April 10 when they travel to Penn State Mont Alto for their first away meet of the season.
