XC performs better than expected at Bethany Invite

Lemont Furnace, PA- Penn State Fayette had their second race of the season Saturday at the Bethany College Invite.

"It was a perfect day for racing, the morning was cool and crisp, which allowed for some outstanding performances from our runners," Coach Bush said excitedly. "Everyone performed better than they thought they would."

Junior, Chloe Kalp was one that Coach Shane Bush was referring to. Kalp competed at a high level for PSU Fayette at the Bethany Invitational and was Fayette's sole women's runner. Chloe placed 19th out of 58 runners with a 26:10.58 time. Kalp was the only runner in the top 20 that was not a NCAA Division II Student Athlete.

"Running against mainly [NCAA] Division II runners was a great experience for me because I was able to push myself to the next level,", Kalp said. "Because of that I was able to reach both of goals of getting a pr and placing in the top 20."
