Freshman Katie Volek (Smithfield, Pa.) was named the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference's Newcomer of the Year and also to the All-Conference First Team, while freshmen teammates Shelby Dziak (Eighty Four, Pa.) and Moriah Kromer (Mount Pleasant, Pa.) earned Honorable Mention nods, the conference office announced on Monday.

Kromer blanked the Lady Lions 3-0 in the first game and Stairs followed by a masterpiece of her own for a 5-0 win.
